Liberty Charge provides the foundational power and communications infrastructure to enable ChargePoint operators, local authorities and users such as car clubs and ride hailing companies, to set up ChargePoints in residential areas in cities and towns in the UK.
This plug-and-play power and connectivity is supplied on an annual Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) fee basis thereby significantly reducing the upfront outlay for ChargePoint operators and other organisations. This business model also provides local authorities with greater flexibility at the end of concessions.
By consolidating nationwide infrastructure build and financing, this approach enables a co-ordinated and future-proofed approach to civils and streetworks, reducing repeat digs and allowing activation of ChargePoints over time. It also avoids a patchwork of infrastructure under the management and ownership of multiple unrelated organisations that may not have a strong legacy of operating such infrastructure.
